Your Excellency, executive Governor of Kwara stare, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Our Royal Father, Emir of ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Zulu Gambari in absential, the Honorable commissioner of Health ably represented by Dr Oyeniyi, my beloved husband, distinguished invited guest, ladies and gentlemen. It is my pleasure to welcome you here today to unveil our Noble Foundation (De - Pals Care Foundation). Over the last five decades, it is no doubt that Nigeria has become an aged society and will continue to remain this way in the coming years. Along with the social issue of our increasingly ageing population, the loneliness epidemic amongst the Aged is something that must not be neglected. From being placed in the hands of inconsiderate daughter in-law to living alone, many Nigerian seniors experience isolation, abandonment and even boredom. In order to combat this social problem, we decide to bring De- Pals Care foundation alive in Nigeria just as its being practice in many countries all over the world to help our Aged live well through series of programs that we have developed. Program like, Group Exercise, Peer Social Networking, Health Workshops, Adult Literacy Classes etc. "Life is Sweet and must be enjoyed at all time"
According to Harvard, broader social interaction for Aged results in higher levels of physical activity, fewer negative feelings, and greater positive moods—all of which are essential aspects of growing older. While it seems like a simple task, the impact of Social Care for elderly person can make a big difference in their journey towards ageing.
